Bloggers Summer Hangout

I attended 'The Bloggers Summer Hangout' on Thursday 23rd June. It was my second blog event ever and honestly I couldn't wait to get there! I travelled up to London on the train to Charing Cross. The event was held at 'The Strand Gallery'. I'd never been before but it was lovely venue. Definitely smaller than expected but nevertheless very pretty! I had such a good time so I thought I'd give you a quick round up of the day.

All of the brands there were really lovely! I enjoy listening and learning about new brands I may never have heard of. Also to me there's nothing more that makes me happy than someone talking about something they are passionate and care about! Thank you to all the brands etc. that attended that took the time to talk to me. There is nothing more you can ask for than brands to be approachable and polite to you.

I totally love meeting new people at blogging events! I took my best chummy with me to this event. It was nice to share what I do with one of my closest friends. We met up with two other bloggers Laura and Charlotte before the event and headed there together. I love the blogging community so much and everyone is always so lovely! I'll definitely be keeping in contact with them. They have amazing blogs so I'll make sure that I link them at the end.

I had such a good day at the event! A huge thank you The Bloggers Hangout for organising the event! You did amazing job I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Thank you to all the brands that turned up and gifted me products! I can't wait to test and share them on my blog. I definitely hope to work with some of you in the future.
Also a huge thank you to the blogging community for just being so lovely in general and making events like this feel so welcome for someone who is relatively new.

I'll link all the brands and blogs involved in this post below:
Pink Parcel
Sass & Belle
Regenerate

Bloggers Ball OOTD

A couple of people asked me where my dress was from at Bloggers Ball. I thought I'd do my first OOTD for you all. I'm sure this will be the first of many!

Dress - Floral Lace Bodycon Dress
This dress was from Missguided it was £45. I thought the price was so good for the quality of the dress. It really is so gorgeous and perfect for an event like a ball! You can see in the photo above the detail of the embroidery on the dress. You may notice that in the picture the dress I'm wearing is short sleeved. The dress had originally got long sleeves which were lovely. The weather has been a lot hotter than we're used to recently. So I shortened the sleeves and I fell in love with this dress even more!

Shoes - Black Ankle Strap Chunky Block Heel Sandals
The shoes I'm wearing in the photo are no longer available from New Look. So I chose an alternative pair that I would have worn with this dress. The shoes I chose are £24.99 from New Look. I love all footwear from New Look! I know they'll always be good quality and they'll last a long time. I'm awful at walking in heels... I just can't do it! So I find the chunky heeled sandals are the alternative to me. They are so comfortable and easy to walk in. So if you are awful in heels definitely try a pair of these!

I hope you enjoyed this post!
Let me know if you want me to do more OOTD posts or fashion posts in general in the comments.

Bloggers Ball 2016

So yesterday was so exciting for me! I finally got to attend a blogger event. I'd been counting down the days till Bloggers Ball for ages. When it actually got to the day I'm not going to lie I was slightly nervous. I was going by myself and I hadn't met any other bloggers before. I had no reason to be nervous at all! I honestly had the best day I could of wished for! I thought I'd share some photos and my thoughts of the event.

The venue was absolutely gorgeous and I've fallen in love with it. DSTRKT is located not too far from Piccadilly Circus. I'd never heard of it to be honest before this event. I'd looked it up and seen all the beautiful pictures. Honestly I couldn't wait to get there. I spent way too much time staring at the ceiling... I've realised that sounds a bit odd! The whole ceiling was lit up with purple/pink/blue lights.

It was so lovely to talk to so many brands and look at their products! This was probably what I was most nervous. I thought talking to brands about my little corner of the internet would be really difficult and I wouldn't know what to say. It felt like it came really naturally though. The brands were so encouraging and really wanted to listen to what you had to say. I'll definitely be keeping in contact with some of the brands I spoke to there. There was such a range from chocolate to hair care. I really enjoyed talking to them all! Credit to all the brands for their amazing looking stands as well.

I'd never met another blogger before this event. I was excited to be able to talk to other bloggers though. I couldn't wait to talk to people who understand and share the same passion as I do. I thought I might feel a little intimidated I mean I've not been doing this long! I found there were so many other people in my position though who are just getting started. The whole blogging community is so lovely and welcoming! I couldn't of asked for anything more. I've met some people that I'll definitely be seeing and keeping in contact with.

So my first bloggers event was a complete success and I can't wait until the next one! If you're unsure or nervous about attending then honestly just go for it. They really are amazing and you'll totally regret it if you never go to one.

Thank you to all the brands that kindly gifted samples and products. I can't wait to go through and try them all. They'll be lots of reviews coming up!

Also a massive thank you to Scarlett! It really was an amazing event and I now can't wait for Bloggers Festival in September!

(P.S. for those who were asking where my dress is from they'll be an ootd post up tomorrow)

I hope you enjoyed this post,

Festival Glitter: Dust & Dance

If you know me I'm in to everything festival related. Particularly the glitter part of it. If I could I would wear glitter on my face 7 days a week... trust me I would. I thought I'd share where I get my favourite festival glitter from.

I got in contact with the lovely 'Dust & Dance'. They sell pots of glitter for festivals, parties etc. at a very affordable price. I've loved 'Dust & Dance' ever since they began selling their little pots of magic. However what I love the most is what they stand for. They encourage everyone to embrace and celebrate who they are and be confident about it. These are two things I'm very passionate about!

10% of the profits from each product sold goes to YoungMinds. YoungMinds are charity that are focused on the emotional wellbeing and mental health of children and young people. This is really important and close to my heart!

'Dust & Dance' were kind enough to send me some pots of glitter. I'm very grateful for them. I loved it so much I then went to purchase some more. I thought I'd share my thoughts with you all!

There are so many ways to wear your glitter! Trust me I had so much fun testing out all my glitter pots. The glitter I'm wearing above I don't think is available anymore. A very similar one though is The Lion Tamer. I'm so unbelievably happy with the way these look. They are totally gorgeous!

They are very versatile and would definitely suit any skin tone. I was slightly worried as I have very sensitive skin. I was unsure if the glitter would irritate me. I've worn these for hours in the day and it didn't react with my skin at all. So you shouldn't need to worry if you have sensitive skin.

'Dust & Dance' glitter is super easy to apply to your face. It is also takes a few seconds to do. I usually apply a thin layer of Vaseline to my face before applying the glitter on. This gives it something to stick on to.

I was a little worried to be honest about how long the glitter would last on my face. Purely considering I dance around like a maniac at festivals! I've worn these and they stayed on perfectly fine. It honestly doesn't move at all! Perfect for a hot festival day you're reassured it's not going to melt down your face.

Below I've added two close-up shots so you can see exactly what the glitter looks like. I'm wearing two different glitters here Blue Hexagons & Rose Pink Hexagons.

I also thought I'd touch lightly on the topic of embracing and celebrating who you are. Please don't let anyone tell you that you can't be you or that you are not worth as much as them. You are allowed to be you no matter who you love, what you want to do, how you dress etc. We are all so special and different in our own little ways. No two people are the same and that's a good thing. If we were all the same we'd be boring!

You are who you are please don't ever change you if you don't want to!

I hope you enjoyed this post!
Please go and send some love to the lovely 'Dust & Dance'. I'll leave all their links below!

Life Goals 2016

I know we're all ready way over the new year etc. But I've been doing a lot of thinking lately about what I really want to achieve in life. I decided that I would make list of goals in 2016. They're not necessarily goals I want to complete this year because if you carry on reading some of these goals are way too out of reach to accomplish this year. I think it's good to have something to look back on like this post. It might motivate me when I have one of those days when I really just don't want to do anything! I'm determined to reach these goals at some point in my life even if its in 10 years.

- Write a book, this is something I've wanted to since I was really young. I'm not even just saying that I have some horrifically, embarrassing and funny stories I wrote as a child. Maybe one day I'll share them if you want me to? I've already got all the characters planned. I'm a little unsure on the storyline yet I keep changing it as I go along. I have a rough first chapter written though. Maybe this year I'd like to get a publisher on board. I really could do with someone to help me!

- Keep on growing my blog, seems simple but it definitely is a life goal. I'm absolutely in love with everything to do with blogging. I'd love as the months and years go on to  really grow my blog. To keep progressing and creating more original and exciting content. I'd also love to do some events for my readers etc. maybe if enough people are interested in a few months. I just want to say I truly appreciate every piece of feedback and every comment I get.

- Audition for the National Youth Theatre, I'm determined to go and audition next time they are auditioning. I completely buckled and pulled out this year. In case you didn't know I'd love to be an actress. I really think this would be a good starting point for me. I need to make sure I'm doing everything I can to help this dream come true. So I'm going to put myself out of my comfort zone and audition. No doubt when I get there I'll wonder what I fussed about. I love acting and even if I don't get in it will be a really good experience!

- Get more organised, if you know me you'll know organisation with my own life is really not my strongest point. I'm perfectly happy being organised at work and with other peoples lives. However when it gets to my own... I need to make sure I keep a diary/planner from now on. I always lose things, forget things and it's really bad. So hopefully I'll be able to get more organised! If you have any tips please let me know... I'm more than likely going to need them haha.

- Pass my driving test, this is something I really need to do. I've been putting it off for months and months bit honestly the thought of driving absolutely terrifies me. Actually maybe it's not the thought of driving it's the thought of crashing. I'm really trying to get over this irrational fear that I've developed. I went driving for the first time last week. It really wasn't as bad as I thought and I wasn't too horrific. Hopefully a little more practice and I might find the courage to take some lessons.

- Learn about coding, ok so I seriously need someone who knows what they're talking about to help me! I really don't understand coding at all. I'd love to be able to build my own layout in the future. It will probably be way in the future by the time I understand and I've learnt how to do it. If you have any blog posts that can help me learn then please leave them in the comments below!

- Get back to dance classes, this one I know I'm going to do this year! I'm currently looking for classes in London that I'll be able to attend. I've been dancing for 13 years so basically since I was 5. I had to stop not too long ago because of a back injury. Unfortunately it does reoccur but I'm trying to get on top of it. Apparently my spine bends further and it locks together or something like that haha. I clearly never paid much attention at any of my appointments I went to oops. Hopefully it will maybe hold out from now it's not bothered me in a few months. I can't give up dancing despite what people say. So I'm just going to keep trying and see if I can hit this goal this year.

So I hope you enjoyed this post! I guess it's just an insight into what I'm hoping to achieve. Also this post is to keep me motivated. So if you struggle to find motivation sometimes definitely try something like this! (So if any of you see me complaining about not being motivated just link me this post haha).

Leave me comments and let me know any goals in your life that you have for this year or the future!

Makeup Revolution Salvation Velvet Lacquer Review

(L-R Keep On Flying For You, You Took My Love, Velvet Rebel)

So if you've seen on twitter lately you'll know I've just been loving wearing lipstick at the moment. I just feel like I want to own every colour possible! I've been asking around which ones I should try and I've received lots of suggestions. When I was shopping the other day in Superdrug I saw the 'Makeup Revolution Salvation Velvet Lacquers'. I'd seen so many mixed reviews on these and honestly I wasn't sure. For £3 each though I thought I'd give them a go and get back to you what I thought about them. I picked three shades up a coral orange, a bright pink and a purple shade. I've tried each one and photographed what they look like below!

This first shade is a coral orange colour called 'Keep On Flying For You'. Looking at the product at first glance I loved the colour so much. I do warn you though it's a lot brighter when applied on your lips. In general I liked the way this looked and I think it's a really pretty summer colour. I think I'd struggle to pair this with an outfit but that's purely because of my wardrobe. I found application was easy with this colour. However I do recommend putting on two layers which is what I had to do. I found that it was a little patchy with only one coat. Overall I do like this one and if you're looking for a bright coral colour for summer then go for this one!

This is a purple shade called 'Velvet Rebel'. I generally tend to reach for the more purple shades so I definitely loved the look if this one. You may be able to see this in the photo but I really struggled to apply this one. It took me a couple of attempts but once I got it on I really liked it. The colour is pretty much the same as you see in the bottle. I only had to uses one coat of this colour on my lips also. I probably would be reaching for this colour more in autumn/winter though!

The last one I picked was this bright pink called 'You Took My Love'. I kind of fell in love with the name of this one! I don't own any bright pink lipsticks so I thought I'd give it a go. I was really not sure on the colour I thought it may be a little too bright. Once I'd tried it though I actually fell in love with the colour! This was my favourite one out of the three I chose. It's a gorgeous bright pink that I'll definitely use on a night out soon. I think I'd probably struggle to use this colour on a daily basis though. I only had to use one coat of this and it was super easy to apply. If you looking for something really out there go for this shade.

Overall for £3 I was super surprised at the quality of these! I would purchase these again. They do take a while to dry but I have found they last for several hours. If you are wearing them all day I would say take it with you because you may need to touch it up maybe once. A lot of reviews I read had said these were super difficult to remove from your lips and they left your lips stained. I didn't find this at all. They came if straight away with makeup wipes and left no colouration on my lips. So if you're on a budget and looking for a liquid lipstick to buy definitely try these! There's a link below to the online store where you can find and purchase them.

I hope you all enjoyed reading this post! Let me know if there are any lipsticks you're loving this month or leave ones you'd like me to try and review!

Caspar Lee Book Signing

So in case you don't know who Caspar Lee is... he's a YouTube sensation that I have no doubt fallen in love with. If you haven't watched any of his videos then I'll put the link in at the end of this post! What you might not know is Caspar released a book on 31st May this year self-titled, "Caspar Lee". It was written by his lovely mum Emily and himself. This book is as you can guess all about Caspar's life. I've only read a couple of pages but I can already tell that I'm going to love it.

Today I hopped on the train to Birmingham after an extremely busy day at work to go to the book signing. It originally started at 3pm but then was changed to 2pm. I managed to get there just before 2pm so I headed straight over.

When I got there everything was very organised! I got my wristband straight away and started queuing. I was surprised that I only had to queue what I think was about 30 minutes. I wasn't that far from the front though! They took 40 people into Waterstones at a time which meant it wasn't completely overcrowded everywhere.

We queued a further 10/15 minutes inside which I can't complain about either. I'm always surprised at these events how many people the authors see! I'm always very grateful of it.

I always find the closer you get to the signing table the more stressed you start to get. Honestly I didn't though everyone was calm and the staff did such a good job! They made sure we all had the book open to the write page and our cameras out ready. One thing I loved is that they stuck a post it note on the tope with our name so Caspar and Emily could write our name. I thought this was such a lovely idea!

I then went and got my book signed by both Emily and Caspar. Emily was looking rather lovely might I add! I then had my picture taken with Caspar. I always have the fear they'll come out blurry but thankfully it was fine.

All in all I had such a good day and it really put a smile on my face. I've got to say this is one of my favourite book signings I've ever attended. I just want to thank everyone at Waterstones, Caspar, Emily, etc. I truly had a lovely time. When everything is calm and organised it always makes it a million times better!

I can't wait to review the whole book when I'm finished. As I said already I'm loving it already. So I'll let you know my full verdict when I'm done! I really hope you enjoyed this little insight into what I've been doing. I've left links below for Caspar's YouTube channel and where you can purchase the book in the UK. Enjoy!
